The medico dental building has towered over Stockton, California for 90 years. It is a tribute to the city’s rich history. In 2020, DFA Development turned Stockton’s most iconic building into a sanctuary for artists and creative individuals.
The Medici Artist Lofts has redefined Stockton’s arts and culture scene by becoming a beacon of creativity for the entire central valley. The majority of the building was transformed into one, two, and three bedroom residences geared toward the city’s artists, musicians, writers, and anyone else who derives a portion of their livelihood through creative endeavors. The project is modeled after similar projects such as The Warehouse Lofts in Sacramento, California and City Arts in Baltimore, Maryland. The majority of units are held at affordable rates, with a handful of units available at market rate. Additionally, the ground floor will feature 3,400+ square feet of commercial retail space, creating a vibrant streetscape. The project was completed in 2020 and is a catalyst in downtown Stockton’s resurgence.
